I voted 3913. It doesn't get any better than that in a single stack 9mm, for me.
A close second choice would be the 4513, or an early single stack 4013. Great pistols. Regards 18DAI.

I voted for a 4513. I'll take the big 45ACP any day.

I love my CS9! But, I'll have a 4513TSW soon.
We'll see which one after I get a chance to compare them.

I voted M&P compact. I carry an M&P 40c, it's a hoot to shoot and easy to conceal.

MY primary carry is an M&P9c. Utterly reliable, light (even with 10+1), and easy to conceal.

What about a full-size P99 or M&P? I'm considering them as occasional carry guns.

Hmmm.
I voted 3913, because when it comes to a lawfully concealed belt gun it's been my primary favorite among compact S&W pistols.
FWIW, I actually own a 3913, 4013TSW, 4513TSW, 4040PD, SW99 compact, CS45 & CS9. I've trained & qualified with all of them and have carried all of them at one time or another, so I 'voted' with some small experience in mind. (My M&P is a full-size, but I've considered picking up a compact at some point.)
Just to show that I'm somewhat conflicted, however, I've come to enjoy shooting the SW99 compact (9mm) more than the 3913 and over the last couple of years. I've come to consistently experience better practical accuracy with the little 99 compact. Not sure why, really. That said, I'd still choose the 3913 over it for a belt gun.
Now, if I do pick up a 9mm M&P compact sometime and it's anything like my M&P 45, I wouldn't be at all surprised to eventually find myself choosing the M&P 9 compact over all of them. Dunno. Not there yet.
One model I'd suggest as an addition to your poll list would be the discontinued 6906, though. I've fired many, many thousands of rounds through one or another of them over the years and have always been very satisfied with them. Just not as slim of a choice as the thinner single column 3913.

I also have the full size M&P9 - little more bulk to conceal, but absolutely do-able.

Yep, doable. Personal preference, though.
The longer I've been at this, the more I've appreciated any advantage in comfort for those long days & evenings.
I carried an issued SW99 .40 S&W for a few years (I own a full-size one just like it, too). Day & day out my issued 6906 was more comfortable sitting in the car and getting in & out of it all day. Ditto compared to the M&P 45 I own.
Just depends where you want to draw the line for personal comfort and what you're willing to accept.

I voted other because I only have a 5903TSW and that or my Sig P229 R in .40 is all I ever carry. Incidentally the 5903 ismy first experience with S & W and I can say without a doubt it is a fine weapon.

I voted for the 3913, but I like the 5903's. I like the extra rounds, and it fits my big mitts better. -Ed.

As much as I love my 3913 LS, and use my J frame, I think the PPS is the overall best for defense. It is a tough tossup, though.

My primary carry is a varient of the 3913. My primary right now is a 3953 with a M37 w/bobbed hammer BUG stuck in the front pocket and a 4053 (Single Stack, No Rail) as a truck gun. I rotate between the 3953 and the 4053 as primary carry on about a monthly basis but always have the M37 in the front pocket. LUVS ME SOME DAO!!!
