My Nickel Model 59 has blued accents: trigger, slide release, safety, hammer and barrel.
All are showing signs of wear. I could probably get away with cold blue on the hammer and barrel, but the rest of the parts are very high gloss. It wouldn't look right.
I called S&W to ask them for a quote to refinish these to their lustrous original condition. They said they needed to see the parts before they could provide with a price. Furthermore, they wanted me to ship them the entire pistol, because they were worried they would lose the small parts (!)
As much as I would like to have S&W restore these parts, I think I should look elsewhere.
Any advice?
