Hi Mean,
I own pistols made by both CZ and S&W, and I feel that the S&W pistols are of slightly better manufacture. I am perfectly happy to own both makers' pistols, though, and would feel perfectly happy to own either the P-01 or the 5904TSW. I would slightly prefer the 5904TSW, though.
Have a nice day,
erich

Sawadee, I have a couple of S&W pistols in my collection, and as nice as those are, the number of CZ pistols outnumbers them about 4 to 1. Something about the "feel" of the CZ that just lwill not let me put it down (except to clean). S&W revolvers are a different breed of cat, I just do not have the recreation fund to afford the ones I lust after.

When it comes to 40S&W pistols, my experience with CZ is not good. I own a CZ40P, which feeds, but does not fully seat the bullet in the chamber even with an 18# recoil spring. It ejects perfectly into my face. A number of people on the CZ forum have complained about 40S&W RAAMIs (subcompact) failing to feed as well. It seems that the angle of the feed ramp is too short for a 40. These guns were designed for 9mm and are absolutely reliable in 9mm. In fact, I believe that the CZ75 is one of the very best 9mms ever made. Problem is that its a 9mm. I prefer 40S&W or 45ACP. The CZ97B is a fantastic gun, but too big for my taste.
I also like the safeties on my S&W CS40 better than the CZ75B. If given the choice between a CZ75DC (decocker compact) and a S&W CS9, boy- thats a tough one. I think I just might have to take the CZ in that case.

I have a bunch of S&W 3rd Gen, pistols and they are all excellent. However, a loaded S&W 3913 weighs the same as my loaded CZ PCR, but the PCR holds 14 + 1 ( as opposed to the 3913's 8 +1) and it is much more accurate (for me, anyway) than any of the 3913s I own. The only drawback in this comparison for the PCR is the thicker grips, but I got a set of thin aluminum grips from the Angus custom shop that eliminate that problem. Smith & Wesson service is the best, but I worry they will eventually stop servicing the 3rd Gens., as they have the model 39.
