Is the frame of a 7 " model 41 and the frame of the 5" the same? If so can you swap out the barrels?

there is only one model 41 frame, all barrels switch to the frames, not all barrels will work without being fitted to the frame.
S&W recommends all barrels be fitted to the frame.
Not many people do, but you will find occasionally that your slide will not function, or close due to the extractor hitting the clearance slot.

Thanks, I have a 7" and the frames looked to be the same but I didn't know how they would swap out. I guess a person would have to buy one FTF to see if it would work. Does S&W offer any 5" for sale I bought a 7" drilled and tapped from them a few years ago?

For what it's worth. i have an early 80's late 70's 7" 41. I just put a 5 1/2" Bully barrel on it. It fits functions and shoots no issues.
