Can't tell you exact year but looks like a 1969-1971 production. 1970 serial numbers started @ A115001, although the 52-2 change was in 1971 per Supica's. Last model 52-2 manufactured in July of 1993.

Hello All,
I hate to revive an old thread, but can someone look up a 52-2 with A2374XX? The S&W book is $147 new. OUCH!
Thanks,
RobF

Early 1974 for the A2374xx is likely.
No way on this planet does the FANTASTIC Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 4th Edition by Supica & Nahas cost $147 new. Amazone shows it for under $51 right now. It's a terrific book and money very well spent.
Welcome to the forum! Quick tip, there's no harm whatsoever in opening a new thread for your questions. Some folks get confused when you bump up a many-years-old thread with a common question.
I love the Model 52.

Hello OP, I have A105865 shipped July 1968 in my data base.
Tough to nail down the early 52-2s. Dates were all over the place.
They shoot great.

Sevens:
Thanks for the look up. You are correct...Probably should have started a new. I didn't look at the date until after I responded...Just thought it was recent.
When I amazon the S&W bible, it shows 147 for paperback...Just noticed $88 on hardback. Didn't realize there are 4-5 editions. Weird!
Anyway, thanks again!!

There are four editions of the book that beats them all.

My 52-2 starts with A314xxx does anyone know about what date is my gun? My buddy's gun is a T1XXXXX; is his closer to 1990?
Just curious.

1976 seems like on the A314xxx.
The later gun will definitely start with a T but should have two more letters and then four numbers. I can’t say exactly when the 52’s went from A800xxx to the Txx prefix, but I think it may have been around 1987/88.
