I am looking to take the step up sell off a couple of guns and get the 952. I have been looking for a place to purchase the recoil springs and can’t seem to find an outlet for them. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

I expect S&W has the recoil springs. Wolff probably makes them in the first place.

Thanks for the reply. I checked both sites and there is nothing that shows for the 952.

Don't trust the S&W site - if its anything like their product updates its always LATE!
Call them and call Wolff.
I can't believe that neither has springs for the 952.

I have tried Smith & Wesson in the past ans was told that because it is a Performance Center item they don't have the springs catalogued. having said that, ringing the Performance Center itself might be worthwhile.

Wolff stated that they don't have 952 springs available and didn't have a copy of the pistol to enable them to spec out the springs.

One of the members here put me onto Brownells; the spring I got is Brownells #940-000-408, 4506-1 recoil spring set. There are two springs in the pack and the smaller lengthwise one fitted the 952 perfectly. It's about a 10lb spring intended for light loads and functions flawlessly for what I need.

I agree - go to the Perf Center.
That's where I called to get springs for my 845.

Just call the regular S&W customer service line to order recoil springs for your 952.

For the 5" model the part numbers are 20071 (wadcutter ammo), and 20161 (standard ammo).

BTW: the springs are dirt cheap from S$W. IIRC... $2 --> $3 each.

Good Luck...

Joe

Are you worried about buying recoil springs for a gun that you do not already own or are you talking about your current guns??

In any case, call Smith and Wesson.
