I have a 4006, product code 104401. SCSW 3rd list product codes 104400, 104402, and 104403 but not 104401.

It has (dirty not rusty) adjustable night sights and no magazine safety.

I’m curious how many forum members out there have one of this product code and what state they came from. This one is a police weapon from a city in Arizona.
My questions is. Was this a special order for that city only or was this product code shipped to cities/states around the country? The information can be gotten from S&W but I think it would be interesting to hear from others out there that have one. Did they all come from AZ or is this a really common product code that just didn’t make it into the SCSW?

I have a 4006 with that product code, but its not what you think.
The first PC 4006s used that "Special" code before the PC established their #1700XX codes
Interesting

Does your PC 4006 have the same or different features?

It is a "104401", not just features = special?

So 104401 could be their blanket code for anything other than a 104400 (or the others mentioned above)? That's alot less interesting...

The label says "Special", just like yours.
It is an early Tactical 5"
I never knew they used that code on non-PC pistols

I wonder if there are any other variations out there with this product code.

So far one as first described, and one early Tactical 5".

From what you show there I would guess it's just a LE 4006 order that included adjustable night sights and the mag disconnect removed.

I've found that SPECIAL under features on the label usually indicates night sights on the pistol.
