I've seen the Hogues, nice but pricey...any chance someone has a different source? Or maybe a set they would part with

Hogues are about the lowest-priced wood grips you'll find for a 3913.
That's what I have on mine.

Actually, I can't think of another manufacturer for 3913 wood grips.

That is EXACTLY what I'm after...the ones shown on the Hogue site are checkered in a different pattern, are yours recently ordered? I'm hopeful they can still do this cut design...thanks for the photo...KW

I bought them just about a year ago.

Ken is a member over on the Sig Forum; he works at Hogue. He has always been helpful when e-mailed with questions.
You might try e-mailing him to see if that style is still available, or if they could do a set for you.

His e-mail is: [email protected]

Thanks Bob, I got connected with Ken and he described the pattern as the "Old Half Moon" style and Hogue will still do them that way if you ask specifically for that pattern...I'll let you know how they look on my 3913 when they get to me...thanks so much for the guidance...KW

Bob, those grips really do look great on the 3913. They also look a good deal thicker than the factory grips. Can you comment on how they feel in hand or if they make the pistol any less concealable? Also, do you know if Houge offers they same design in a slimmer profile? Thanks.

Yes, they are a thicker than the stock grips, but not by all that much. I like the additional girth since the 3913 is a slim pistol.
I don't think the slight additional thickness makes any real difference in concealment.

I don't think Hogue makes any slim grips; I think all their wood grips are the same thickness.
An e-mail to them would give you that information definitively.

Try looking on the Hogue Auction web site (www.hogueauction.com) before you buy a pair of grips from the Hogue Online store. I bought a pair of checkered Pau Ferro wood grips in the "Old Half Moon" configuration for a Ruger auto pistol from the Hogue Auction web site for 1/3 the price of a pair in the Hogue Online Store catalogue. The Hogue Auction web site says that the grips listed are all seconds, but there is nothing wrong with the pair I bought. You can see from some of the pictures of the grips on the Hogue Auction web site that they are definitely screwed up in some way. The grips that I bought looked perfect in the pictures and in person. I can't imagine why they sold them to me so cheap.

I know that this is an old thread but I have to ask. I want a pair of wood grips for my 3913 in the worst way. With the Hogue grips, do you have to modify the frame in any way -- I notice that they appear to be secured by a screw. Also, does anybody know if other companys manufacture 3913 wood grips now or is Hogue still the only one.

Many thanks for the help.

No modification of the frame is needed.
Hogue supplies a replacement mainspring cup along with the grips, which the screws go into.

Hogue is the only company I know of still making wood grips for the 3913.

A side note - the grips in the picture of my 3913 are the "old style" grips. The last I knew, Hogue will still make that style on request.
