Does anyone know if this model comes in the blue finish?

The S&W variety has been available in .32ACP in blue recently but I don't know if it is still the case or not.

Big Mother says we are not allowed to play with these kind of toys here in CALIF..but I have an old PPK in 32ACP with blue finish so I know those exist even out here in the wasteland..would like to see the new S&W types in 32 up close..let us know if you find one..all5x

I'm going to do some searching within the next couple of weeks and report back here. Anyone have any idea how much the PPK normally goes for?

www.simpsonltd.com look under handguns then Walther. You should find what your looking for. I suggest you stay away from the newer S&W versions. There have been alot of QC issues with them. Stick with a Wather, Manurhin, interarms model. As to blue ones, all the above listed are made in Europe.

What are the issues that the S&W PPK/S-1s seem to have? I read a lot of bad things about them but most forum threads about them seem to be filled more with Walther snobs just hating the fact that S&W is making the guns than actual information on the issues.

I have owned a good number of PP, PPK, PPK/s, TPH handguns. Three were totally reliable (one of those was actually a Turkish made Kirikale) the rest had feeding issues, ejection issues, accuracy issues, and bit the hand that held it.

I have a PP .32 a.c.p. now that functions wonderfully and shoots straight. I believe I will send it off and have it bronzed.

I think the S&W made PPK type are hit or miss for reliability, but the same could be said for the guns that Interarms were building in the US as well. The French/German made guns are really only better in that they look nicer in finish, there were still some issues with these if you want to feed certain ammo and as they are now some of them work all the time and some would have trouble. I have several of the post war Walther PP/PPK/PPKs in the three different calibers offered and the .380 PPK needed some tweeking to get it to function well without eating my hand, my 7.65mm PP has always functioned perfectly and my .22lr PP and PPK/S are a bit finicky with certain ammo. One friend of mine has a S&W made PPk in .380 that he has had a trigger job done to, he claims it functions well and I can state that his has the best DA trigger I have felt on any PPk period.

I contacted customer support at Walther America and was told that the .32ACP only comes in stainless steel. Has anyone purchased a Walther PPK recently? What did you pay for it/what is a good asking price?

I had a chance to do some searching today and trying to find the pistol in .32ACP has become somewhat of a challenge. My local dealers seem to only stock the PPK in .380ACP or do not have any in either caliber. Hopefully one will turn up in the upcoming weeks.

Since WWII the PP Series including PPK and PPK/S have been made by Manhurin in France, Interarms at its Gadsden plant and by S&W. They have been made also by FEG in Hungary in a model Walther still sells, called the PPK/E, which they offered for sale here back when Interarms was still representing Walther in the states. It seems that just about everyone EXCEPT Walther makes this pistol, so the so-called "Walther snobs" need to get off it.
