I am looking to find out which Hogue rubber grips will fit my SW 457. I cannot find out which pair will fit as they don't list the model number.

Any other SW guns (more popular model) which would take the same grips?

I'm looking for the same information as I also have a 457 and would like to get some Hogues for it; I believe the 4516 size is correct, but I'm not sure.

While I can not say for sure a 4615 grip would fit a 457, I would look into it and get them if they do. I recently put a pair on my 4516. Although it does make the grip wider, it is nice to have the arched (curved) backstrap. Even though I have small hands it was an improvement.

I would call Hogue of their Web site doesn't say for sure that the 4516 grip will fit a 457.

BTW; the install was easy, and the grips come with good instructions.

I recently picked up a 457, and it is a terrific gun. Very, very reliable and a joy to shoot.

I got a set of Hogues for it - the product code is #16010, and they do indeed fit both 457 and 4516, according to the website:

http://www.hogueinc.com/getgrip/merc...l?id=85&step=2

One thing I might mention: The Hogues are comfortable, but they do widen the grip a bit, and they make it "stickier". If you have big hands, or if the gun is not for concealment duty, then no problem. After shooting and carrying, however, I found that I prefer the stock S&W grips. Clothing slips over the stock grips better, so I think there is less chance of printing or accidentally exposing the weapon with a wardrobe malfunction when carried in a waistband holster. To gain a bit of "traction" on my stock grip, I simply cut a short piece of bicycle tube and stretched it over the butt (a medium width mountain bike tube is about $4.00 from WalMart). It's not permanent, it's thin, and it is easily removed for cleaning, etc.

Hope this helps.

Agreed. What would be ideal was if S&W made replacement factory grips with an arched (curved) backstrap!
