Smith & Wesson will sell you one on their website for around $40, or sometimes other sites will have used ones. Try out sites along the line of www.cdnnivestments.com or www.midwayusa.com.

OMG, I HOPE you were just trying to be silly. Otherwise you just advocated that the OP commit a felony.

You CANNOT "import, manufacture, etc etc etc" ANY magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds. That means you can't go to Arizona buy a magazine and then bring it back into California.

FWIW, buy a magazine body (body ONLY) from wherever you can. Then buy the California approved follower, spring and floorplate from S&W. It's cheaper that way by a lot if you have a rare magazine model (such as having a 6906 in California).

Has California banned pre-ban magazines too? There are pre-1994 4006 mags.

In a way yes. It is legal for the original owner to have a pre-ban hicap mag. However they cannot sell or lend it to anyone else. That's the way I remember it. I don't have my book to check the exact wording. Bruce

I'm not in Kalifornia. I have a 4006 with three 10 round magazines. Will higher capacity magazines fit in the 4006? If so, anyone know where to order them?

The 4006 standard magazine holds 11 rounds. They are available new from S&W. Used police trade in mags are also available from several internet sites, usually in the $15-$20 range.

As FirebirdV8 mentions above check CDNN, Midway, Summitt or Buds.

10rd mags from S&W
Here is a link to the S&W page for 10rd mags. They are more expensive than other websites mentioned above, but they will have them if you can't find them anywhere else.
