Thanks to K9 , I was able to purchase this Wesman PC custom 5906.
It started as a Militar 5906 and Wesman added the upper.
The PC did a S/A conversion and serrated the sights.
I added the checkered Hogues and she is finished.
I know there were a few others built for forum members.

Grinder,
Very nice.
Time to get rid of that older 3566-5"
Just thought a little reminder push would see it my way.
Best regards,

BM1,
I've seen several nice 3566 Limiteds for sale locally lately, but all are $$. How about one with an optics mount ? Email me and we'll discuss it.
CQB, already been to the range and yes, it is a shooter

Wow, very cool Grinder.
I should have kept my older 5906 and let Wesman add a 5" slide.
Would have saved me the money I spent on the 952-1.
I just wish I would have known what I know now.

You know, there's no reason for you to hold onto it. It must be cluttering up the place. And after all, it's all alone in its box...day after day...waiting for some frame to come along and ..........
Hint, hint!!
Email sent.

Soory about the poor quality photo. Bad camera.
I can't remember how many of these he made for Forum members but I think it was around nine. I feel very lucky to have one as it is a true custom and it shoots unbelievably well. I would like to get it refinished but I'm afraid to send it anywhere. I'm afraid it will get lost or stolen. I would actually like to have the whole thing Melonite finished. I don't know if that can be done with the type of bushing that is on it. Is Wesman still around the Forum? I haven't seen any posts for sometime.

Grinder:
Sorry to see that K9 gave "one of a very few" up. Glad to see that you got it.
Since I was part of the Militar 5906 project during my time at S&W and put the 5" slide on that gun, this particular conversion is near and dear to me. There were only 12 slides ever made in this configuration and only 6 survived. 4 of them went to forum members.
There is/was nothing like a stock factory 5906 turning into a single action and being able to outshoot a PC gun. It did not take anyone long to figure out that this was the quickest way to shut down the PC.....so....the project never took off.
Glad to see that you and Matt are still enjoying the ride. Also good to see CQB45 on the post.

Hey Wesman, long time no here from. I am still the proud owner of my production/PC 5906. It is just a joy to shoot and I'm trying to think of a new gun to send to you for some work. If I sent you my 4003TSW could you do a trigger job to smooth it up and give it a pull weight of around 2.5-3#s? Also what would that cost me? Also I would like your opinion on would I be wasting my money buying a PPC9 with what you did to my 5906?

Wesman, I think we have asked before but I need to ask again...
Can you fit one of those slides to a 5906 TSW?
It is a TSW with the rail...

Matt:
Been going through some changes that shifted priorities elsewhere. Have not been on here or on my listed e-mail account for a very long time.
Not able to do any "smithin'" at this time...sorry.
"wasting my money" - I would never talk anyone out of buying a gun - especially this day in age. WANT and NEED are two different things. Only you can decide if you need another tack driver. I tend to run out of hands.
Not sure this helps you.

Martialcomp:
Short answer - NO.
I posted a missive with pictures regarding box rail and step rail. I am not sure how long this forum keeps all the information but it would be worth reading again.
Up until the TSW line that you have the production guns had step rail and the PC had the box rails which differentiated them. Remember....a production/duty gun's focus/mission is different than a "performance" gun. The issue/question with these particular slides was whether or not you could make a performance type gun from a production/duty gun - what would that configuration be and what would it cost. That question was answered with these slides and squashed pretty quickly.
Hope this helps.

Nice gun, I have one of it's baby brothers; the PC Stocking Dealer 6906 all stainless 9mm.
I got in in 1994/95 and used it in our local USPSA(shooting from a sparks summer special, under a bananna republic vest..kind of our idea of DP practice pre IDPA),then IDPA until I heard that only 100 were built. The steel frame really made it shoot more like a .22. Also for IDPA I'd start with a 12rd mag backed up with collared 15rd mags.
I also have a IDPA 5906,always thought I'd like to switch the slides. To get 5906 with a 4.25" slide and 6906 with a 4". But, just couldn't do that with PC guns.
I did stipple the origional grips as Hogue wraparound rubber were just to thick.
Now Grinder has me thinking about Hogue checkered wood grips for my Safe Queen.

Merry Christmas WESMAN! Hope all is well?
We made it through another Hurricane Season!
Me...just plain ol busy. Not much time for gun play this past year and our dept even dropped our 3 qualification runs to 2 this past year due to cost of ammo
Our night fire was postponed a few weeks ago because Training got a complaint from Admin it was going to be 32 degrees with a threat of snow that night.
I brought all my foul weather gear but was disappointed the pencil pushers did not want to brave the cold. anyway, enough of that.
good to see your post!
You still at P.D.?
Mike

Yes, it's good to see you posting, WESMAN, and to hear that all is well.
Are you anywhere "interesting" now that you're not with P.D?

Here is a third; a great pistol with its' sidekick. I don't know what magic was done to make it shoot so well, but standing & two handed - this thing usually shoots one of my more accurate groups. I really like the sight picture on the LPA rear sight.

I love my 5" 5906 - I bought my slide right here about 5 years ago. I guess I am one of the 4 forum members that got one:
I added a mag well, oversized mag release and night sights to it. My inspiration was my .40 Tactical:

These pistols really are amazing, and the only thing I think of changing now is a gold bead or maybe a tritium insert for the front sight. I really like that LPA rear sight and want to keep it.
With the forum hackings a couple years ago (?), it seems the original thread and info are lost; a trajedy. I may have printed some or all of it, but it will be in deep storage and I won't know for another year or longer. There was a lot of really great history & information in there.
Speed Shooters had some special made Blade Tech IWB's for other 5"ers, that work fine for this pistol.
Mine still shoots great groups, and has chambered and fired every 9X19 round that I loaded in the mag.
Anyone have any updates or info or whatever on these??

5" slides
Does anyone still make or carry a 5" slide for the 5906?
I am looking to send my 5906 off to www.Customizedcreationz.com for a polish and some laser engraving. It is a police trade in and I want to make it look a bit different.
I came to S&W semi autos late in life having been a 1911 guy for 30 years. I also really like the XD. My daily carry is a XD45. Though I have a 6906 and 5906. The 6906 is becoming my fav as it is light and smaller and with modern 9mm ammo, a good self defense pistol.
