I have a buddy that just bought a smith&wesson model 559 9mm at a auction. he presented it to me and told me that he did not figure out how to dis-assemble it. naturally I chuckled and told him he was a moron. I took the gun and it appeared to come apart like a 1911, except under the barrel is solid. it does not depress. I then looked the gun over for about 5 minutes and could not discover a take down pin, lever, or anything. does any one else have one of these that could give me some advice on this. I feel stupid asking but cannot find much about this piece on the net. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Should come apart like any other...align the muzzle end of the slide stop with the notch and push from the other side...magazine out of course...slightly life the slide stop...should work.

These instructions will cover the 559 with the exception that the barrel bushing is not fixed.
