Performance Center 1911 v/s "regular" S&W 1911
I have an opportunity to buy a NIB S&W PC 1911 (for 1350.00)
with target sights and I would like to know what differences I can expect compared to my (non PC) S&W 1911 which also has target sights. Will the accuracy be much better? My current Smith 1911 will group 2.5 inches at 25 yards off a bag using my 200 grain reloads. Anyone have a PC 1911 and can you enlighten me with a comparison?

Dang, no responses to the original question. Does anyone know if the PC guns are held to an accuracy standard before they are put on the market? If so, do you know what that might be?

I have a PC 1911, the slide is as smooth as any 1911 I have felt. The trigger is alot lighter and crisper then the standard S&W 1911 that i sold but should have kept, the standard smith 1911 is one of the better guns out there, the PC gun has alot more hand work, but every guns different. The standard one could be just as accurate. Just my 2 cents, didnt really come up with a answer for you.

No contest. It is hard to tell you, it is something tht should be experienced.
The PC 1911 s are (in my opinion) as good as the other semi custom 1911s out there.
EBs, LBs, Nitehawks, etc.
And they all flat out shoot!
Killer price,
Bob

My standard 5" Smith is my most accurate gun. Not just me either...everyone who has shot it has shot it well. Easy to handle and 100% reliable. My 4.25" shoots fine too but I am more consistent with the 5". Can't speak for a PC 1911 but it would take a better shooter than me to find the difference.

Thanks Bob / ihump,
I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the deal (no pun intended) because it's such a good deal. I don't need another 1911 but a PC gun is hard to pass up at this price!
