Can this be used safely? Would just be for fun at the range.

They both both appear to function with just snap-caps. I was cleaning both and accidentally started to put the 908 slide onto the 910 frame.

Anyone tried this before with these two pistols?

Yes, I've done it and both functioned safely, and accurately. Looked good too! Regards 18DAI.
