My 457 (like the other guys here say) is both reliable and very accurate.
Plus, it's unusually fun to shoot. Hard to put my finger on exactly why, but it's more fun than many other pistols. Pleasant recoil impulse may be part of it.
that is a great price and I would buy it if you can get it.
My 457 Is my daily carry gun and second only to my 686 6" revolver when it comes to fun to shoot and reliability.
there is something comforting in carrying a compact gun like the 457 that shoots the .45ACP round but doesn't have harsh recoil.
I have a 4516 and my buddy has the 457, for a carry gun he is ahead of the game. That is a good gun at a good price IMHO. If I was not burdened with carry 45s, and graced with a spouse I do not deserve(who is a cop, and can tell the difference between guns) I would jump on it.
thanks guys but i was just looking at it.i have a 457 and am thinking bout selling it.i have bad wrists and the 45 is no help.might have to go back to a 9mm.its hell gettin old
I hear the getting old part, I have a problem with guns that are to snappy.
the one thing i have found with the M457 is you don't need to load it with the hottest loads you can get.
the loads i use for carry have less felt recoil then a gun of the same size that shoots 9MM.
I started using the FMJ/FT years ago instead of a hopped HP and found the it has great penatration and a fair amount of expansion (considering the bullet is already almost a 1/2" in dia. already) with out having to put up with a heavy recoil.
