Don't have the 4003tsw, but do have its heavier brother, the 4006tsw with stainless steel frame. The TSW models have some different parts which help dampen the felt recoil of the 40cal bullet, which seems to do just that. I am able to shoot accurately to the point that it compares favorably to my M&P full size 9. Here is a link to an article about the TSW models giving an explanation of the differences you find in a TSW model. Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but hope this helps. zorro49 http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...24/ai_61861509

I bought an Atlanta PD also, excellent condition. Atlanta specs apparently did not include the rail piece as I have not seen a picture of one with the rail. Mine doesn't.

Love the pistol. Wonder what they switched to, As there is a grundle available right now.

Thanks for the link zorro.

dvutah mine does not have the tactical rail either.Looks like the Atlanta PD switched to S&W M&P40.They ordered 1900 M&P40s January 2008.

My 4003TSW is heavy and i imagine zorro's 4006TSW is even heavier as he stated with SS frame. The weight does not bother me since i bought it for home defense.I really like mine the TSWs seem to be well built and reliable guns.
