45 Recon Value Question
Stumbled across a 45 Recon for $1499 - 1 mag, no box, some finish wear - not a big 45 fan, but is this worth collecting at that price.

I own the 3 different calibers of Recons and the Shorty series . I myself wouldn't pay that much for a 45Recon . maybe for a SS 45Recon . With only one mag , good luck on finding another if you want a PC mag . If it has finish wear , it's not collectable material , so it'll be a shooter .
My 45Recon isn't collectable , but my other two are . I sent it to Guzzitaco to have an Sig Romeo put on it and I've never regretted it . I load it with 185gr HP's , rated at 1100fps I get from Georgia Arms and it's absolutely deadly . So , if you're looking for a PC shooter and you can talk him down , get it .

There have been better condition, cheaper ones that have been available. I also think that $1,500 is too much for the one shown.
That might be a realistic price for a pristine w/everything stainless example but still on the high end. I was lucky to get mine, (I’m cheap,) and I wasn’t even seriously looking. No case but excellent condition, 6 PC mags, lifetime supply of most springs, extra new firing pin and original rear sight. (Came with LPA rear.) I could actually drive there to personally pick it up even though I try to avoid Portland nowadays.
Keep looking if you really want or need one. They are out there.
