I was trying to identify an all-steel, all stainless compact auto in .40 S&W in the SCSW. I don't see any. I mean maybe a 3.5 inch barrel, no alloy, like the 4516, but in .40 cal.

Was there one I missed, or was there never one made?

Thanks...

Taco

Here's one of them...sort of. Stocking Dealer special from mid-90's. 1 of 200. 4 1/4" barrel.

I'm not sure about the Shorty 40 variations. Grinder the S&W PC Oracle will chime in before long with the answer for you I'm sure!

No single stacks like the 4516, only the two listed above that were double stack.

Unique looking pistol!

Thanks for the info!

I'm surprised that those two were the only ones.

Well the size and the material do kind of contradict themselves. If you're going to have a compact pistol, most would prefer it weigh less for carry. Mine is a real red-headed step child as it has a compact frame with and even longer than standard barrel/slide. The 4006 is only a 4" barrel. I'll be the first to admit it isn't that practical, but it sure is cool looking and being a PC gun it shoots good and function very smoothly.
