1911DK or 108284. Does the 284 have the same action as the DK...
I like both. But love that stainless. This will be my next and last(hehe) purchase for a while. Thanks, Frank

I opted for the #108284 a year ago and if has been flawless. From what I've read the DK is a standard run gun with some extras. I didn't think the magwell, flat trigger, fancier grips, and special serial number was worth the extra cost. I've been really pleased with the #108284 and it is a great range gun. I've only added a SS S&A mag guide and a shok buffer.

I have had the 108284 for about 18 months. I use it to shoot single stack in USPSA. It's coming up on 15,000 rounds and all I've done was change the front sight to a big fat red fiber optics. I'm lefty so the Ambi safety was a plus.

I bought the DK about a month ago and am very pleased. 450 rounds through it on 3 range visits and 100%, no problems at all. I think you will be happy.

I only had time to fire about 40 rounds this morning. I loved this pistol after the first 7 shots. It hits well. The magazines are very well designed(followers). This DK is a keeper. I couldn't stop grinning while shooting. I did not want to leave the range....going back this weekend to shoot a few hundred rounds. If you considering this 1911...don't hesitate buying it. I'll report more later. Thanks for everyones comments & support. Frank

Has anyone changed the trigger & had the pull reduced on their DK?

I've heard good things about the flat trigger, doesn't make sense visually, but Mr. Koening is doing very well with it. How does it effect feel/pull compared to the traditional curved trigger?

I have a DK that has around 6000 rounds through it. Since it was new it has sent the brass 30 or 40 feet, and I have stiffened up the recoil spring 2 lbs to no avail. As far as the trigger goes, I have a preference for this trigger. But I cannot put my finger on what it is. Guys I shoot with hate it. It may be how far through the trigger my digit extends, and how that effects my pull. I personally would not lighten the pull, as I would not want an AD in matches. I have several high end 1911's, yet this one appeals to me. And after 6000 rounds, the wear patterns are just what I want to see. I've traded off Kimbers that were pounded and had unusual wear in the rail area. This speaks well for the build quality. But seriously, Mr. Koenig is not over-seeing the production. They are just a tarted up S&W, with target sights, trigger, hammer and magwell. If you don't want a flat trigger, pick another model of S&W.

I have a DK-model PC1911 in .38 Super that has the flat trigger. It looked uncomfortable at first but I became accustomed to it right away.
