Blued S&W Model 5946?

I just saw this gun at Auction:

It's a stainless 5946 that has some blueing over the finish. The tag reads RCMP on it, maybe an over-run?

Certain units in the RCMP do have a "Blued" version of the 5946, I believe it is a melonite finish they had applied. If it is a true RCMP pistol it will have on the slide RCMP-GRC and the charging Horseman on it. I am unsure if they were special production run or ones that were already in the inventory and sent back to be refinished.

I know your post is about the 5946, but there was a small run of blue 5943's, which was the 5944. Very hard to find.
