4526
how many of these were made?
what's the going rate for a very nice shooter, some cosmetics shiny-ness on the frame from the frame mounted decocker?
reason I ask, my buddy (police academy director) has one in his inventory and he always told me it was a gun from Training Day so I assumed it was a 4506. I saw it from a distance last year and thought it was a novak sighted squared trigger guard 4506. He qualified with it yesterday and I noticed the frame mounted decocker and I told him this was no 4506.
the gun is in excellant working order and I think it has spent most of its life in a safe at the academy.
my buddy would like to know a value as he may want to buy it and the only way would be to trade it in to a cop shop and he buy it back.
thanks in advance

As I stated in that post for 2008 I should have kept my 4526. It had a round trigger guard and was a tack driving .45ACP.

I think I'll keep it.I should get the gun lettered from S&W. I really like the 4506 series. I also have a Fresno County Sheriff 4506. They must have purchased more than were issued. they now issue 4566's. I also have the entire 10mm series including 2 1046's and an FBI 1076.

Don't blame you for keeping it. I too have a 4506-1 and 4566. Had a 1006 but traded it off. Want to get a 1076 some day for sure. FBI one would be great! Getting a 4563TSW real soon for my new duty weapon.
Now if I ever find a 4576 I am buying it and won't part with it!

I still carry my USP 45 as duty weapon. Plan on hanging it up in 22 months.
