No Mod Red Dot/Scope for 22A-1?
I know, I know.... This has been discussed previously. I could not find the answer.
Is there a good red dot scope or some type of scope that will fit the 22A-1 with no modifications? I do not want to file on my barrel or anything like that. I am looking for a scope that fits right out of the box.
Thanks for any advice, and I am sorry to open up a thread that may have already been answered.

It's got that Weaver style rail on top of it, so any red dot that fits on a Weaver style rail should work fine.

Well... I bought a scope with the weaver style base (NcStar Red Dot Sight 1X45 T-Style DTB145 from Opticsplanet.com) and had a helluva time trying to mount it. It did not sit center on the barrel. When I finally got it mounted, it fell off after firing two rounds. That's after using a screwdriver to tighten the mount to the barrel. It was a cheapo ($40) so I am not too bummed, but I want to find one that others have used that was no hassle, no modifications, fits right to barrel out of box.
Thanks for all your input.

Millet red dot small tube worked great on mine and non sits on top my Ruger 22/45 that I traded the 22A on because of really great deal. The S&W was excellent shooter and a tad more accurate then my Hunter, but when the gun is just as a plinker the loss of a little accurcy is no big deal. Besides I have a thing for Ruger 22 automatic pistols and have four and looking for the fifth, a Mk I Standard to go in between my Pre-Mk I and Mk II that goes with my Mk III pistols.

I have a TruGlo on my 22A and it mounted without any issues straight out of the box. Works great. I couldn't be happier.

I put this Barska Red Dot on my 7" 22A with no problem. It cost less than $30. I thought the 22A was a tack driver before....wow, what a difference. BTW: The target grips are from Smith and were $75.

I put a Millet SP2 on my 22A. It was a tight fit using existing grooves of the 22A, but it works.
