I would like a price check on a 4043 PD trade in and an opinion on the pistol in general. How available are magazines? Any pecuiliar problems with this model.

I have a 4046 which is the all steel version. I like the gun and I think it was well designed for its intended purpose of being a police weapon. The triggers on these guns are DAO and are usually quite smooth and short but the pull weight will be about 9 or 10 pounds. 1911 shooters won't like the trigger but revolver shooters will feel right at home with it. The trigger needs a full stroke each time, there is no short reset.

Mags can be found pretty cheap and parts are available. The gun is reasonably concealable and is somewhat similar in size to a 1911 but much lighter than an all steel 1911.

I think the prices have gone up a little on these recently. I would guess a gun in nice condition would be about $330 with two mags.

Note on mags. I recently found budsgunshop.com has 4006/4043 factory 11 round mags in packs of five for $30. I bought ten magazines shipped for $7.00 each.

It is screwy finding the item on their website. Might be sold out but you could call...
