Default Poor M&P 40 trigger

Posted this in gun smithing also.

I just purchased my 2nd M&P. The new one is an M&P 40 LE with Tritium sights. My first M&P has a very smooth trigger with no noticeable clicks, grittiness our bumps.

My new gun's trigger breaks nicely but there is all kinds of chatter during the take up. It does not feel that way with the side removed. Not a very good feel and it bugs the **** out of me.

Any ideas?

I don't know if it applies to all of them but, the trigger on my 9c I thought I could never live with during the first 50 rounds through it. By the time I had 250 through it, it had improved so much that it no longer felt like the same gun. I'm not saying yours will, but my experience has been mentioned fairly often by others, about their new ones? It not feeling gritty or stacky with the slide off is normal. The striker release plunger isn't being encountered by the linkage while the slide is off. Most of the trigger quality issues are caused by that interface.

Shoot it alot........no need for an action/trigger job. Do it yourself one round at a time AND you get to have a blast doing it!
