Shorty 40 2000
Early last year, I picked up a Shorty 40 2000 on a whim. It has languished in my safe ever since, so I have decided to put it on the ol' trade block. In doing my due diligence (try saying that 3 times fast), however, I am having a lot of trouble coming up with information for this specific PC model (the 2000). I have not even been able to find much of anything here in the forums. Most everything I find is on the standard version fo the Shorty .40. At this point, I have not even been able to Blue Book it to come up with a reasonable price/trade point. For those who are not familiar, it is a beautiful black pistol with polished flats. I would appreciate any information or suggestions for finding information.
Best regards,
Gonzo

Feature wise it's pretty much the same as the other versions of the Shorty-Forty. I see prices running anywhere from $600-$1,200, but most seem to actually sell in the $750 range. The 2000 model is my favorite with it's two-tone finish.

I plan to take some this weekend in preparation for putting it on the trade block and I'll be happy to throw a couple up in this thread. Actually, I had intended to take some pics LAST weekend, but my wife and I had a baby a few weeks ago and my schedule never seems to work out like I expect these days!

Your shorty 40 is in beautiful condition. I'm sure that will make who ever buys it very happy. Too bad I'm broke.

Hey Gonzo it is ashame you have to part with the S40 2K. I really like the front slide serrations. I believe this and the Recon 40 were the only versions with the front like that. Most people just don't appreciate the work that goes into these PC semi autos. Funny how people have no problem spending 1k+ on sloppy 1911's. I would put a rough value of $650-$750. You might even want to sell the aluminum PC case seperately if you want to maximize profit. Not sure how many were produced? Maybe the "All knowing" Grinder knows??
Only thing I was able to find was basically what is printed in the S&W handbook

MODEL 4006 SHORTY FORTY Y2000
- .40 S&W cal., 3 1/2 in. barrel, white dovetail front sight, Novak Lo-Mount Carry 2 Dot rear sight, aluminum frame with stainless slide, 9 round mag., two-tone black finish, Performance Center aluminum case. Distributed by Camfour 2000.
Here is my Shorty40 2000 in a custom TT leather IWB.

Orangehole,
How is it that nobody has yet figured out that you are actually an emotionally troubled 9-year-old girl on her father's computer?!? Ha ha ha!
Yes, it is definitely a pretty little pistol, but it has sat in my safe since I purchased it on a whim. Never even made a trip to the firing range. I decided I have to thin out the herd a little bit. The PC Shorty guns are fighting pistols, meant to be carried, not waste away in a safe. My Shorty .45 spends a LOT of time on my hip.
