Default 4566tsw

Hello,
Im new to the forum and this is my first post. Dont everyone get to excited..........just calm down..........

I have a 5906 and think it is a great pistol. I am thinking about getting a 45 cal and would like to find something that has everything my 5906 has in 45 cal. Hence the 4566 TSW. Problem, no one seems to be able to find one!! Any ideas on where I can find one of these? Any thoughts on the model? I am even open to police trade ins as long as they are in really good shape.

Also, open to suggestions for a DA/SA 45 Cal. I dont like the DAO plastic guns, even though they shoot very well.

Thanks in advance.
TD

Welcome!

Check out JG Sales and Summit Gun Broker. JG has plain 4566 in right now. Mark at Summit doesn't have any listed on his web page right now but drop him a email. He may have a few around.

I am a big fan of the TSWs 4006,5906 and 4566,I currently have several of each model. I believe if you like your 5906 you will really like a 4566TSW also. All these are very reliable and are very time tested. Some of the best handguns IMHO.Bun Broker has a couple listed there in in the $400 range used and a couple of new ones too. All the TSW are starting to get hard to find as supply starts to dry up. Maybe S&W will wake up and relize there are folks out there who dont like the tupperware guns and start producing TSWs for the non LEO one day, if they ever want anymore of my buissness they will however I have e-mailed them several questions in regard to making them avaible to non LEO and they have yet to respond so I guess they dont care since they have yet to reply.

Ok Ok. I'm calm now. Whew!
I would not suggest Bun Broker, as did a previous poster; since that is for something else.
Instead, I would recommend Gunbroker.com.

I have a 4566TSW that is my favorite carry gun since 2003 but it is big, heavy, and hard to conceal, and I am a very large fellow. Also hard to find holsters to fir it-I had one custom made. I live in the country and find it useful to snap the Surefire on the rail when I go check something outdoors that went bump in the night and it is always with me in the truck out on the ranch. It has a comforting feel-can't beat it for shooting straight and absorbing recoil and they will last forever. I don't think you can go wrong with it if you can stand the size and weight. I believe they did make a compact version of it, at least in 40 and 9mm but don't recall seeing a compact 4566TSW. I was at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center about a year ago and S&W was there with an assortment of M&P 45's. I was thoroughly impressed with the feel, function, and accuracy of the M&P 45, and really like the compact M&P 45c for concealability. I have ordered one from the factory with night sights and thumb safety to replace the 4566TSW as my concealment gun-the TSW will probably be relegated to the nightstand with the light affixed. The compact M&P is much more elegant in my opinion as a concealment gun and also has the integral rail. FYI I do not like Glocks and can't shoot them worth a darn but the M&P fits me perfectly

One of the aforementioned sites has a very nice Safariland paddle holster for the 4566TSW with light attached.

Have your dealer call Williams Shooters Supply in Quincy. They had a small number left as a result of a factory vault clean out.
