I'm considering the Springfield Armory RO Elite in 10mm.
S&W will never get on it. While other gun makers are getting in on the 10mm market, the clueless clowns at S&W are asleep at the wheel

I agree entirely. Don’t see a change happening

The XDM 10mm 4.5 has been a welcome surprise for me. I love it! Ergonomics much better than a G20 and seems to be built very well. I'm just crossing my fingers for a Glock single stack 10mm eventually, or really a midsize single stack from any manufacturer would be nice. I like my G29 but it's so blocky and thick.
A single stack M&P 10mm would be AWESOME.

M&P 10mm
If Smith is listening a M&P Gen 1 frame with a Gen 2 trigger with a 5” barrel would be a perfect handgun....just saying..
I don’t own any 2.0’s because Smith removed the beaver tail and that was a huge thing for me

I'd love to have an M&P 10mm with 4" barrel. Absent that, I'm going to have to pick up a Springfield Armory XDm 10mm with the 4.25 inch to go with my Ruger SR1911 and Ruger GP100 in 10mm. About the only guns I have that aren't S&W. I'd really like Smith to bring back a 10mm.

You and me both! I have been wanting to get into the 10mm game, but have not really found a 10mm pistol that I really gave a dang about...an M&P 10mm? That would have me getting into the 10mm quickly.

I got the 10mm Fever a while back and picked up a Colt Delta Elite later model. Being a 1911 "cultist" I had to have it. I still like it but was disappointed when I figured out that full power loads will Glock the brass. So now I've got a couple thousand pieces of new starline brass and I down load just enough not to ruin the brass. Really wish it had a fully supported chamber. A nice gun other than that. Throws brass about 30 feet.

That's why I got the Springfield 1911 in 10mm. Fully supported chamber. Bad news was, I sent it back once for fail to feed, they fixed it. Sent it back again for accuracy, they didn't fix it. But I can handload a full power load with Starline and it will handle it.

A KKM aftermarket barrel is fully supported and will eliminate the "Glock Smile" on the brass. They're pricey, but good to have if you reload.

Do It! (Unless Glocks don't fit your hand to well). The G40 is the most accurate semi auto i own. That may not be enough to convince you to purchase one, but i have no regrets at all. Mounted a FF3 on it...it's the perfect woods gun for this area.

There are .40 S&W and .357 Sig barrels easily available for the Glock 40 too. Option 2 is a Rock Island double stack 10mm. 1911A2.

So now that the 610 has been re-released, does anyone think we stand a better chance of seeing a 10mm M&P?

Not really. The 610 means S&W has noticed the renewed interest in the 10mm cartridge. But it doesn't affect whether or not they think their 45 M&P platform is strong enough for it. If it will only require a new barrel, slide and spring it could happen. It it means designing a whole new gun probably not.

I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with the 10mm. I have shot .44Mags(12 of them), 500s, and 460s. The latter is a thumper...but It is accurate.
I have 20 PC target guns and love them. My favorite 9mm is my converted 3566 Tactical (PC conversion to 9mm). My favorite .45 is my 945...and a modified 625. but I have competed in the past in Glock matches....and a member of GSSF. With my membership I am entitled to a new Glock every year at discounted prices...However when I talked about a G40MOS, my dealer suggested converting my G41 MOS to 10mm with a new barrel and mags. I did it. It is very accurate and after only 100 rounds, the slide was battered a bit...resulting in misfires...Needless to say, I do not understand all the hype....It really does hit hard, but the ergonomics of the Glock do not fit my small hand...I LOVE my M&Ps, and a 10mm M&P would be nice...but a PC 10mm 1911 would be better. The heavier frame would mitigate the recoil. Mind you, it is not offensive, just noticeable. Pick ups 9mm after shooting the 10 and it feels like a plinker.
Handloaded with AA9 and a 180 or 200gr bullet.

My Ruger KP-95DC has an all polymer lower, including rails. No issue so far. Can't think of a single Ruger polymer that isn't stout.

Was this an independent test, or was it done by Springfield? Where did you read they did a 30k test, I thought it was 10k in the video on their website back when it was released?

Gave up waiting. I bought the XDm10 OSP and love it. That gun is everything the 10mm ever hoped to be. This was after years of calls and emails to SA's customer service and being told that they would never make a 10mm XDm. It was worth waiting for.
PS: S&W, I still have one open slot in the pistol rack in my gun safe.

There's a good chance I'll buy an XDM 10 OSP or 5.25" later this year. S&W is missing the movement away from revolvers to 10mm semi-autos for woods protection.

i'm really torn at this point. I'd love the 1911A2 RIA double stack 10mm. 5" and 16 rounds. I can get a stock RIA .40 S&W, and probably a custom .357 SIG. I can get an optics mount that fits to the rear sight dovetail.
OR
I can get the Glock M40 10mm MOS 6" slide, and a .40 S&W barrel, and likely an off the shelf .357 SIG barrel. Optics mount to the plate.
I've always wanted a 1911 something. I can handle an A2, as a friend has a Para 14-45. Same fat doublestack frame size.
The Glock is a hundred more, but mags are cheap. The RIA is a hundred less, but mags are more, and then the optics mount. Kinda a wash.
Now if S&W opened the back doors one weekend and some of our illustrious creative gunsmiths here had free run of the parts dept and a model shop/prototyping machine shop, I bet they have it figured out by Sunday night.

One thing: I've shot full house 10mm loads in 1911, and in my XDM. Recoil in the latter is notably softer in the XDM vs. the 1911.

Sadly, I've reached the conclusion that reports of the 10mm Auto cartridge being in the midst of a triumphant return have been greatly exaggerated.
I mean, ignoring the fact that the 10mm was never really mainstream popular to begin with, never really ascended past cult status, and thus doesn't really have anything to make a comeback from... Let's face it, the vast majority of shooters consider the .40 "Short & Wimpy" uncomfortable to shoot, so what are the odds of them enjoying an even more powerful cartridge with more recoil like the 10mm Auto?
Honestly, I can't help but feel like all the articles we've seen on the 10mm Auto's supposed comeback were little more than a viral marketing campaign fueled by the FBI dropping the .40 S&W. Seriously, notice how most of these articles started shortly afterwards and often drew direct attention to the fact, as if to say; "The .40 S&W was dropped by the FBI, but here's it's older brother who works out more often and got kicked out of the FBI for being too much of a powerhouse for the agents to manage. Do you dare to wield the awesome, formidable power of a cartridge that not even Federal Agents could manage? Are you man enough to hold in your hands a semiautomatic pistol cartridge which strikes fear into the hearts of the mighty Alaskan Grizzly Bear?! Then don't delay, hop onboard the power train on the fast track to glory with the 10mm Auto, coming soon to a gunshop near you!"
Frankly, if 10mm Auto were in nearly as much demand as those articles suggest, then S&W would have already come out with an M&P10mm to meet said demand.
So if you really want a 10mm pistol, then it's probably best to just buy one of the currently available pistols chambered in the cartridge rather than continue waiting on Smith & Wesson to come out with an M&P10mm to meet a demand that doesn't exist outside of overly enthusiastic articles which unironically read like a sales pitch in a market full of shooters who find any amount of recoil greater than 9mm Target Loads to be objectionable.

Well, hold on a minute. The argument is, if 10mm were gaining popularity, Smith would do a M&P10. But this ignores all the other makers who are accommodating 10mm: Sprg. makes both the XDM and 1911, Colt, EAA, Glock, Kimber, Remington, Wilson, Rock Island, Sig, Grand power, and others. Also some revolvers. Smith seems to be the outlier here.
I bought the XDM because I didn't want to wait to see if Smith would do one. Why put your 10mm life on hold? Go for it.

Even Santa's Elves stiffed me on a M&P 10mm.

But wait, there's more! Fitted it with a Streamlight TLR 8-G and installed a Powder River Precision trigger kit.
That trigger kit is very good, a huge improvement.
It's not my TRP but then it's a working gun, not a toy.
