S&W N Frames in 8 3/8" barrels?????
I wish S&W would offer the N Frame 357mag, 41mag 44mag and 45 long colt in the 8 3/8" barrels. I'm going to have 4 holes in my collection of S&W N frames when i'm done in the future.
Can i special order the 8 3/8'' barrels on the new n frames when i'm ready to purchase them.
I have two ruger redhawks in 44mag but ruger isn't manufacturing the 357 and 41mag in the redhawks anymore so i'm getting the S&W's now.
I recently shot my new S&W M58 in 41mag w/4'' barrel in nickel and its awesome with great balance. I like the 41mag too.

I had an M27 with an 8 3/8" bbl. Most accurate gun I've owned. I put 100 rounds of 38spl handloads into a group that I could cover with a half dollar at 7 yards, off hand, Modified Weaver Stance(only way I shoot a handgun), wish I still had the target so I could post a pic but that was probably 20 years ago.

A partner of mine used to have a 8 3/8 model 27. He bought it at the same time I got my first gen 686 with an 8 3/8 barrel. It was beautiful, he should have never sold it, and I should have bought it. It was really accurate like your 27. Nice guns.

Just buy the older older guns! They made plenty of N frame with the longer barrels and these days prices are usually less than the shorter barreled versions.

I just missed a 57 8 3/8" at LGS (nickel, pinned barrel, counterbored, nice condition). It went for $850, seemed fair price. I'm not too upset, already have 2 like it. They are out there, if you look for them.

I'm jumping on the 27 bandwagon here. My dash two with an 8 3/8" barrel is amazing.
If you have not had one I'd consider the old models before buying a newer one.

I found a used Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44mag with a 10 1/2'' barrel so far for $329 in excellent condition.

I have an 8 3/8 27-2 nickle, a 657 8 3/8 and a 629 8 3/8--I wish they made a 627 8 3/8.

I wish they would make the Model 610 10mm with a 8 3/8" or 10" barrel, but it can not have the stinking internal lock, and must have the Target Hammer, Target Trigger, Target White Outlined Sights rear and Red Ramp front and a beautiful set of real wood grips, like those of the Mod 29's in the wooden presentation case of the 70's.
Wish in one hand...so they say!
