I don't think we're going to see anything new out of S&W until the Modular Handgun System competition is over. Even then, S&W just doesn't seem to have the desire to take risks with new products. They had their run in the 90's (aka the flavor-of-the-week era), now it's, i.a. Sig Sauer's turn.

Yes many 10mm enthusiasts are saddened by Smith & Wesson's dropping the 10mm guns, I would bet the 10mm would still outsell the 460's or 500's...

I know that 10mm enthusiast are just chomping at the bit for the next and best innovation pistol made, that can handle the potent 10mm cartridge ballistics.

To have S&W develop the M&P 10mm would be nice and I had stated that it being made as a Custom Package with conversion barrels would add to its flexibility. My interest would be the 10mm M&P 6" slide and barrel, with 40S&W, 357Sig and 9x25Dillon conversion barrels, as something I'd be into.

I know this flexibility from my S&W1006 with Bar-Sto conversion barrels for 40S&W and 9x25Dillon already.

May as well make it a six incher. For hunting in more states. They just need to tweak the .45 mags and voila. Awesomeness!

Yuppers! Trust us on this one, The 10mm SIG is doing quite well with the four pistols in it's lineup.

Think about it, S&W!

Guys, nobody wants Smithy to build a 10mm M&P more than me.. but if they want to do it and really turn a profit, they're going to have to think a little out of the box. My thoughts are simple; reintroduce S&W into the 10mm game via a single stack, super compact 10. Think shield. Nobody is doing it and MANY (myself included) would buy one tomorrow if it were offered.

Build it and we will come!

S&W won't make what you want...so Glock it. Consider the G40 long slide 10mm, 6" barrel, reflex sight mounting system, (3) 15 rd mags. If that's not your cup of tea (or you don't like Glocks) there may be nothing else in 10mm out there besides custom stuff ($$$$)

Sadly, S&W have probably gotten their last from me. Their current "flavor of the month" offerings are, shall we say, less than appealing? *yawn*

None for me, thanks.

I own a custom G29sf and I love it! But, I'd really love to own a M&P as I prefer the feel of my M&P9 to any Glock. They are missing the boat. 10mm IS absolutely gaining in popularity and fast.

Nobody is doing a single stack, super compact 10mm. This is where Smithy could really corner the market.

Has anyone tried to sleve a bad 45 barrel for 10mm??
Just to see if the extractor / ejector will work??
How about 10mm in a 45 mag , will it hold them in with out mod??
We might be over thinking this!!!!!!
A barrel and spring????????????????????????????????

Yes indeed, while not a complete barrel sleeve, I have made a bushing that I tack welded into the barrel and rechambered to 10mm specs. Mine with a slight bit of ramp work, and not a single tweak to the mag was able to slingshot every round without issue. Its not the same as actually shooting it, but it tells me the geometry is very close and would only need minor tweaking for reliability.
