Default .30 carbine revolver N frame 8 shot...

I know Ruger made a single action in 30 carbine a while ago..they still might? But why no DA revolvers in 30 carbine? It's a very strong cartridge, producing almost 2k. feet per second with a 110grain bullet. Granted, these velocities are out of a long barrel, but still,I'm sure it would make a great handgun cartridge. Ammo is aplenty,in mixed varieties. What I would like is an N frame, 6" barrel with 7 or 8 rounds. Price it right..I'd buy at least one..

I know Taurus made some hunter models in 30 carbine years ago. But the downside, aside from being a Taurus, was that it had a 12 inch barrel on it.

It's doable but carbine ammo is pricey! I suppose you could reload it, but I don't think there is too much demand for a .30 Carbine wheel gun. There are simply better Revolver cartridges out there.

In a revolver-length barrel like the Ruger Blackhawk, the .30 Carbine round is LOUD!!!! Not a very pleasant plinking round. I think more modern rounds designed for the revolver, like the .32 H&R and .327 Magnums, cover that ballistic niche in more usable packages.

You may be aware that S&W made some test N frame guns in .30 Carbine in WWII, but they went nowhere as there was usually always a better answer to any question asked.

I had a 30 carbine barrel for my Contender, I liked it but got rid of it. The novelty wore off soon enough and the noise made peoples ears in the next county bleed. I MUCH prefer the 357 barrel for it.

I did load it down a lot with some cast loads that were bearable but factory ammo was just obnoxious. I imagine a revolver is worse. I saw one of the Rugers recently, didn't even pick it up to look at.. (-:]
