Thumbs up Dear S&W: All I want for Christmas is a L-frame in 45 Colt

What I had in mind was a 5 shot Model 70 in 45 Colt.

Think of it as a Model 69 with a .452 bore.

P.S.

Oh and brushed stainless vs matte finish.

I'll be the Grinch and tell you it can not happen.

5 shot 45 colt

Bunch of guys including me have wished this. Unless S&W does a major rework on frame, hand location and makes a smaller OD ratchet an L frame 45 can not happen. I have measured and measured.

I know Taurus did it, but they already have a smaller ratchet OD and had is closer to centerline.

You realize a L-frame sized revolver chambered in 45 Long Colt will be a 5 shot

This snubby is loaded with the 200 grain Barnes Solid Copper Hollow Point ammunition

The revolver is 17+ years old, weighs in at 19 ounces (empty) and has a Titanium frame, cylinder and barrel sleeve

It is a shame that Smith and Wesson has never offered snubbies like these

The closest that Smith and Wesson ever came was the Scandium framed, pug nosed model 625s weighing in at 25 ounces

Yes, I have pocket carried all of the above firearms in 5.11 Covert Khakis, just about my favorite pants these days

I would buy one of these in a heartbeat if it had a better looking barrel at around 2.75" to 3". Probably a full lug or slightly less.

Well you can get an L framed 44 special with a 2 1/2 barrel. Scandium frame and a titanium cylinder. I have a 396 and it is very nice and easy to carry, but my 2 1/2" 325 is easy to and holds 6 rounds. It might be a bit fat, but it weighs nothing and is easy to carry, The difference in diameter between a N frame and a L cylinder is only about 0.15

I know. I've got a 629 3", 24-3 Lew Horton 3" and a 69 2.75". I only use .44 sp. with those. I've got a 25-2 2.75" that was converted to .45 Colt. I would like a slightly smaller .45 Colt. I wish Taurus would come out with the 450 again. I was wondering if the Charter Arms .45acp could be drilled to accept .45 Colt.
