Remember those reports of doom on the 10mm? I heard it said from a clerk that it is a dinosaur, on it's way out(early 90's). Well, you get my point. Although still not the top cartridge, it farred pretty good considering the odds and outright blatant lies perpetrated about it.
I never met someone who actually tried it and didn't like it. Most in fact fall in love.
I thought about posting this in the Lounge, but I thought "S&W, do you read the writing on the walls?" Bring back the 1006 and an M&P 10mm.

Well they brought back the 610 and built the 310NG...It would have been nice if they made the M&P in 10mm...but because they made the Short & Weak and brought about the change I don't see them shooting them self in the foot so to speak, those revolvers shoot the Short & Weak too.
They could make the M&P10mm and supply a 40S&W conversion barrel as a package deal. Would work for me, but what do I know!

I am a very happy user of a Glock model 10. In many ways it is the ideal law enforcment duty weapon. Now that I am retired I carry it regularly during the winter, when the trolls wear more clothing. I have absolute confidence in it.

Hey Folks!
I don't believe you can kill the 10mm. Everytime its pronounced, it comes back stronger. Maybe the Fortis ( if it ever comes out) will finally get it on its way. Take care and God Bless..HT

I actually shoot a 357 sig slightly better than the 10mm, but the 10 has got those balls that I really like. It's still king of the hill in a reasonably concealable autoloader. They're pretty even in a target setting in my hands.

What is a Glock Model 10? Do you mean the Glock Model 20?

Bring back the 1006... YEAH BABY.
One of the best handguns ever made.
Shadow 1006: The conversion barrel idea is great. It will give S&W a viable reason to make a 10mm M&P.
Believe me, the 10mm is alive and very well.
Best Regards,
Arkdweller

I'd spring for a 357 sig conversion

Well the neat thing is that a 10mm Semi-Auto Pistol can support the use of caonversion barrel swaps.
10mm to 40 S&W/357 Sig/9X25 Dillon
I wish a barrel manufacture would start producing the caliber conversions for the S&W10xx Series, Bar-Sto used to make some but have quit. I was lucky to get the 40S&W and 9x25Dillon for my S&W1006 5.00"
I would be interested in some for the 4.25" models like the 1066/1076/1086 also.

Kind of odd they would bring back the 610 and not the semi auto line back. Glock seems to be selling enough of them to keep producing them.
I would still rather see them bring back the old ones like the 1006-1076 than make the mp into one.
It would be nice to see either way

How about a 5" half lugged barrel version of the 610? Perhaps a PC gun. I have a PC 686 LR that is a nicely balanced tack driver. I'd bite at a 610 in that config!
