SD 30 Super
I would like to see S&W. Make the S&W SD pistol in the 30 Super Carry chambering.

But why? It doesn't do anything the .38 Spl or 9x19mm can't and one only gains two to four rounds in a bottom feeder. Federal merely created a new cartridge case to mimic the ballistics of the 7.62 cartridges of the Tokarev and Mauser pistols. I don't get the fascination outside of people who may be merely ignorant of existing cartridges and platforms for them.

Their main reason was increased capacity. With a bottlenecked round like the Tokarev or the Mauser you wouldn’t gain any extra rounds.
Capacity isn’t a big deal to me, but its everything to some folks. Colt sold a lot of Detective Specials because it held one round more than a Chief’s Special. 2 to 4 more rounds can be a big selling point.

Let's take a moment in quiet reflection of some of the various wiz-bang offerings from our great ammo companies:
5mm Rem rimfire; all the WSSMs (Win. Super Short Magnum rifle cartridges); .45 GAP etc etc etc.
THE GOOD NEWS is, ammo is virtually unobtanium....AND, if you find it, you have to be crazy to pay the price. So, all in all, this is a big meh.
I haven't really paid much attention once the .357Mag and /44 Mag (and the .30-06) were introduced.
IMHO,
J.

As long as our regular ammo is cheap and plentiful, let’em make whatever they want.
Oh yeah. I forgot.

I'd probably buy a 6 shot j-frame which take moon clips. A 430 or 630 I suppose. Considering the crazy prices on 632's, there is probably a few others who would like one as well.

Consider this: a 6-shot J-frame, a 7-shot K-frame, an 8-shot L-frame, or a 10-shot N-frame. These are just spitballing, they might be able to squeeze more chambers in some of those.

Any particular reason you would prefer a revolver in 30 SC over 327 Federal?.
From the drawings I have seen the 30 SC has taper and is .05 wider at the base. I don't know if that is enough to result in split cases if someone tried to fire 327, 32 H&R or 32 S&W through it but suspect it would. So the only power level available would be 30 SC.
A 327 revolver can fire 327s when you want more power than the 30 SC and can also shoot 32 H&R or 32 S&W Long when you want less. Which makes it more versatile. And no moon clips which would be a big plus for me but I know some people like them.
More capacity in the same size gun sounds appealing to me but if I do buy a 30 SC its going to be a small semi-auto.

I do think shorter cartridges do better with moon clip, so a 30 SC would be a bit easier to load than a 327. In any case, according to a Forgotten Weapons clip I just watched, S&W has no plans to make either. I'd buy one if they did.
