Walther TPHs are snapped up on GB for $500+, used, and more if the box is incl. I would think a Scandium framed (or other lt. wt. matl) version of these fine, tiny .22 / .25 DA/SA pistols would be a marketing winner. Also, by virtue of their small caliber and size they should avoid many of the problems that are coming to the larger caliber / capacity pistols. IMO They are far more useful and disirable as pistols than the tiny .380s out now.

Handy little pistols...I picked up one for $350 a couple of weeks ago. Mine's been 100% reliable, but they can be very fickle. It would be a great addition to the current line, but I'd don't see it happening.

As someone who owns, and has carried both (Stainless TPH in 22LR, and a KelTec P3AT), I do not agree. The P3AT is about the same size, reliable, and more useful in a SD situation.

My TPH has not been out of the safe in several years - the KelTec (with the laser added) has taken it's job.

This is not to say the Walther isn't a good gun, and NO, mine is not for sale (yes, I have the box ), but it's not a workin gun anymore.

Take care,
Bob S.

Couldn't agree more. I'd love to have a lightweight TPH in .22LR.

I had the alloy framed German version and foolishly sold it during a divorce sale. It was a great little gun. It was a little finicky on ammo but ran 100% on with Remington Vipers and CCI mini-mags. I'd buy another lightweight 22 TPH in a heartbeat.

I have a very early one in stainless. I like it as a plinker and light carry or backup. It would be ideal in an alloy version. A very accurate little gun.

Given S&W's continuing problems producing a trouble-free version of the PPK and PPK/S I wonder if they are up to the job of producing the TPH. I would really like to have a new one, but it has to be better than what S&W has done so far with the Walther design.

Just read your message about the Walther TPH. What ammo have you experimented with where you received 100% trouble-free action? I've had a couple of jams using Remington. I haven't tried the Vipers though. Frustrated me to the point where I was thinking of selling it, but my wife said to keep it. I am dead accurate with it at 25 yards! It is a nice piece!

The Kel-Tecs et al. are OK, but not really the same type gun as a TPH, which is a very highly refined, small, light, all steel (I wish alloy-framed) back-up / plinking gun.

The Kel-Tecs and Ruger LCP are fine, but they are slug-ugly and have no single action possibility. (I have and use the Kel-Tec P32). It seems to me they also have an extremely long trigger even for a DAO gun - at least mine does, and they have no manual safety.

My TPH works with any HV .22 ammo with 100% reliability for the last 1000 rds. or so. They do have one problem which is a hairpin shaped double-action spring that is too weak. Easily replaced with a piece of round spring stock bent to fit.

Based on the response I see on the auction sites and gun shows, these would sell very well if S&W could offer them at good quality new for $300-$400.

Should be doable. Mine is a beautiful little Interarms licensed copy, nearly all of the parts are castings which work just fine.

I have a 21A Beretta 22LR. Loaded up with CCI Stingers coupled with a clean and dry chamber the gun works flawlessly. I would love a TPH but the Beretta works so well for me, I'm good. I also have a 1st generation P32 and it works 100% as well. I'm all set with the mouseguns.
