I went to college in northwest PA, and I just got back from Homecoming weekend where my class celebrated its 50th anniversary of our graduation. This time around I road the bus in the Homecoming parade. Five years ago I marched in the parade using my cane and I figured once doing that was enough. We had our meals provided for Friday night and Saturday so we didn't need to go out looking for a place to eat. It was good to see everybody who came, but it was sobering to see the list of class members who have passed away. One of my class members said I hadn't changed at all in 50 years, and his wife said she would have known who I was immediately. I guess I have aged pretty well
.
On the way back I had made arrangements to see my nephew who started his first job after graduation in Pittsburgh. I didn't get to see him a whole lot when he was growing up because he lived 3 states away. Knowing that he lived pretty close to the PA Turnpike exit I would drive by I made sure to text him so we could get together today on my way home. I probably bent his ear a bit but we had a good time seeing each other.
