Ruger SR9 any knowledge???

Saw a Ruger SR9-10. Was impressed with the grip felt like the cross between a 1911 and Glock really liked it. I have always heard that they (
Rugers) were hell for stout. this a very ergonomic looking and feeling pistol. Dbl. only with a safety, easy take down but heavy dbl. action trigger. Ruger says they are around 6-7 lbs but this one felt heavier to me. Any knowledge out there?????Could use some advice I don't need it (the Ruger) not the advice, but when it comes to guns What does need have to do with it. If need was the only criteria this forum probably wouldn't be here.

Yes, it "feels" real good..and is LOTS of capacity....most of the guys I know that have them, love, make sure you get one that has either had the recall work done ( new trigger & mag release) or is of a serial number in the #331 'prefix' or higher range...you can tell by the "split" trigger' ala 'Glock'.....

I first said the prefix was #370 but that was for the LCP ( 380 auto pistol..) it too has a recall and they changed the "later" models to a #371 prefix serial number.........the "recalled pistols have a small diamond cut in the back, just below the hammer on the .380's......

600+ rounds through mine without a failure of any kind. Hollowpoints of five different brands and ball 9mm. 17 rounds in the magazine and it's the slimmest grip with the shortest all around measurement from the front of the trigger all the way around the back of the grip and back again. Much shorter than a Glock, a Sig, etc. Exactly the same as a 1911. I love the reversible rubber backstrap. Love the sights and the fact that the rear is a wedge design, but also fully adjustable for windage and elevation! Tactical rail is great for lights. Ambi safety works just like a 1911's and the mag release is on both sides with no need to switch it over. I like the 4.1" barrel length for holstered carry alot. Rather handsome and sleek pistol. The "WARNING: Before shooting gun...." is molded into the frame and does not jump out at you. The SR9 and address engraving is tasteful.

The trigger works. It works fine for combat shooting (see the grouping), but it is not a fine, 4 pound target trigger. It is rated at 6 1/2 pounds, but mine broke consistently at 6 pounds, 2 1/2 ounces. I don't like magazine safeties, but some guns come with them and this Ruger SR9 is one of 'em.

Ruger. American made and American built by Americans. I like that about Ruger just as much as I like that about S&W!

Thanks guys I appreciate the info. Maybe the one I looked at just has a heavy trigger. I would rate the trigger like the old NYC Glocks. But I will check on it Monday. Love the indentation right under the trigger guard, the one I looked at has the safe action trigger like a Glock two piece. I have small hands so I love the grip...Any more info pass it on...Again Thanks
