Default WTB Armalite AR-7 Explorer

Really need to find an AR-7 Explorer (Armalite) 22LR. The takedown that stows in the buttstock and floats. Wanted it for a Christmas present for a buddy who's a kayaker and canoe enthusiast. Need it to be in good condition but will consider parts as well. If i can get enough parts maybe I can put together one good one. Thanks for any info. Merry Christmas, Sam

Thanks for the lead but his was a Henry, the one that has replaced the Armalite. Thanks for the heads up but I'll keep looking. Sam

Thumbs up AR-7's

Samson
Actually I think the Charter Arms replaced the Armalite and Henry replaced the Charter. BTW........the Charters are pretty darn good. The Armalites [that i saw] had the swirly colored stock whereas the Charter has the black ones.

I think I'd rather have one of the new Henry versions, at least you'll have a gaurantee and the best customer service in the industry if something goes wrong. I have owned two of the Armalite versions and they were both unreliable.

A friend had one, Armalite version, broke the firing pin, and made a new one himself, cutting down the blade of a butterknife. Used the old firing pin as a pattern, rifle worked after he was done. Don't know how long the new firing pin worked, but it did work....

Default Still looking! Armalite AR-7

So far I've received two guns from folks who swore they were Armalites(One was a Charter Arms in new condition and the other was a Henry Arms) so naturally I'm a bit gunshy!! "Now that's funny"! Neither one was from anyone on this forum. Got a lead from a forum member I will be tracking down tomorrow. Hope my luck changes. It sounds promising from a forum member. Let you know how it goes. Samson
