WTB Caliber conversion barrel for 1066/1076/1086
I know this is a huge longshot, but does anyone have a caliber conversion barrel for the 1066/1076/1086 that they'd like to part with?
Any conversion would be good, .40 S&W, 357 SIG or 9x25 Dillon.

Caliber Conversion barrel
This had never occurred to me .
Please share source if you find this.
I would really like a 40S&W as I am cheap and am sick of chasing brass at range.
I can reload a 40 Short and weak hot enough for my tastes.....

The only source for aftermarket S&W 3rd Gen barrels that I can remember was Bar-Sto, back in the '90s when everybody had a S&W in their holster. Most of them were just precision versions of the same caliber. Finding a conversion barrel is in fact the needle in the haystack. I understand Bar-Sto will still make them, but you need to put in a bulk order.

Still looking for a conversion barrel.
I had lunch today with Bigfoot, Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa, but none of them knew where to get one either. BTW, Elvis said to tell y'all he said Hey!

Went fishing with Judge Crater, he didn't know where to find one of those Bar-Sto conversions either. We ran into the Loch Ness monster out on the lake, but she didn't know where to find one either. Still looking.

I have a 1026 now, so let's expand the search area to include 5 inch barrels as well as 4.25 inch. Any of those Bar-Sto conversion barrels around?

I have a bar-sto .357 Sig barrel for my 4043. I change the barrel and the spring and voila. But I'm wondering if the shorter cartridges will work as well in 10mm magazines? If so, then we might get enough interest for Bar-sto to make a run. I'm sure they stopped making the .40 S&W - .357 Sig ones because the demand was lacking and not for any other reason.

The .40 S&W allegedly works just fine out of the 10mm mag/conversion barrel combo.
Someone on the 10mm board tried to get an order together 2 years ago but couldn't get enough committed buyers. Same thing on this board last year.
Bar-sto will make them if you order 50 of a given barrel length/caliber for around $150 (more or less) per barrel.
So, I'm just hanging around hoping one of the people that bought a conversion barrel 15 years ago is ready to let go of it.

Why don't we gather enough interested buyers and place a bulk order? Iam willing to spend $150 for my 1076.

It's been tried before by others without success. I know I'm not willing to put in a lot of time to coordinate such an activity as no doubt it would turn into a messy affair.
There's a 50 barrel of a given length minimum order, 50% down and a 16-20 week wait, at least that was what was quoted in 2008. $155 per barrel. So, $150 isn't going to cut it.
Now, if someone thought they could get $200 per barrel they might put up the funds themselves and greatly simplify things by ordering and paying for the lot and reselling them to people it might be worthwhile. I know I don't have that kind of money to take a chance with.
And...... still looking.
