For Those That May Not Know....

I'm not sure Ned. I know the DSPS came blued in some versions. My dad has one that is blued, has fancy checkered stock, and even has the hunting scene on the receiver. Would have to see the barrel markings to determine if it was or was not the DSPS.
Just curious, what is the top shotgun in your picture? It looks like a Ithaca M&P with synthetic stock.

I've been told.....
over the years, and seen for myself as well, PD guns in blue with birds as well. Never really give them much consideration.
The top gun is green parked, with a stock made by an outfit called Black Warrior. They still make 'em fo Rem's & Mossberg's, but no longer the Ithaca.
The one with rifle sights is indeed marked DSPS, ordered new,30+ years ago by a friend of mine, 1 of 2 he ordered. All are factory green parked. The bottom one came from Owenboro, KY. PD. I'm gonna AOW that one at 11". I used to have another but sold it to a buddy who used for many years in the Marine Corps, in the jungle and the sandbox.
There is no finer combat shotgun made. I do wanna test the new Keltec, though.

Let one in good shape pass through my fingers on GB. Starting to think I'm not going to fine one without paying an insane price.
Still holding out.

What Price Range....
are you lookin' in? There's a couple of shows comin' up where I usually run into some. I picked up an 8 rounder a couple of years ago that had been drilled & tapped, with huntin' scene on it, for $225. If you want one that's right, it' gonna cost.

The eight round model is available brand new from Ithaca for $549. It's really a remake of the old Military model with a brass bead sight.

I didn't know there were so many finishes - blue, chrome, parkerized. My DSPS is a matte nickel finish.

Enfield let me know if you ever want to sell it. Would love to get my hands on one with that finish.
I've been looking up into the $600 maybe even $700 price range for one in really good condition, just haven't found the one at the right price.

Any Luck Yet?
Have you managed to find anything yet? I saw several on GB over the weekend, including 2 matte nickel ones.
