We had another scammer working the board. He responded by email to a WTB ad posted in our classifieds and joined the forum after he was asked for his username.
Thankfully, our alert member suspected foul play and brought this to our attention. The scammer is now banned, but I'm sure he'll continue trying to defraud people through email.
Forum username:
Charles234
His most recent email address:
[email protected]
His typically send a message like this:
Quote:
Charles Here! Please let me know if you are still interested in purchasing a <insert your grail item>, Email and I'll get back to you
|
His follow-up message usually asks for a MoneyGram or Western Union payment to his wife (Brynda Turner).
He uses this name and mailing address:
Charles Turner
403 Dunlop St,
Marion, SC 29571
I doubt it's his real name/address.
A Google search of his contact information turns up scam alerts on several other boards.
I strongly suggest you avoid doing business with this person.

A few tips...
Don't post personal information where just anyone can see it. Have people contact you by PM or through the forum email forwarding system. Only members can access these.
Be suspicious of new members who only come here to sell you something. The vast majority of transactions with established members go well.
Ask for photos, but don't completely trust them. Scammers commonly copy photos off the internet. Some people request a photo of the item on a current newspaper, but a scammer could create that with Photoshop.
Be wary when payment is requested by Western Union or MoneyGram.
Get a phone number and speak with the person. Ask questions. Many scammers won't pass the sniff test.
