I recently acquired a very nice 29-2 in blue with a 6-1/2 inch barrel. There are some spots on the barrel, from improper storage, but not on the rest of the pistol. The finish is deep and perfect on the frame and cylinder.
I think the best way to go is to find a replacement barrel that will match the rest of the gun. The revolver's serial number is N3239XX, so I'm thinking a barrel of that vintage would match the finish on the gun better than would a re-blue of the barrel I have.
The 6-1/2 inch barrel I have was a replacement for the original 4 inch barrel which I also have. It is in perfect condition. So maybe a trade can be worked out if that is more appealing.
Thanks so much.
