I am currently reaching out to anyone who will read this and possibly assist me. I inherited a Smith and Wesson .357 cal. handgun in the early 1980s from the estate of my beloved grandfather. This firearm was in a presentation case with a brass plaque affixed to the top of the case sporting the words "In loving memory of" and his name with DOB and DOD. It was originally sold to a friend of mine in western N.C. The serial number on this firearm is S187683. If you see this add and have this firearm or possibly know who does...Please contact me. I would also go so far as to offer a reward for info on this firearm. Though this add is a long shot..I have to try..This firearm may not even exsist now as it has been 30 plus years. Retired law enforcement officer from NC. I am looking for a model 686 smith that was issued as a commemorative to the NC Law Enforcement officers association in or around 1987.
