Lost my insert to my 66-1 four inch. I realize you can’t buy these from S&W or elsewhere. Just hoping someone has one or a barrel with one they do not need. Long shot I know. I do not want to mess with mixing chemicals as I have been told is necessary.

Thanks to those who pointed me towards the resin kit and the online tutorial on making the insert. The kit is I believe $ 70 from Brownells. Unfortunately I am all thumbs. There is no way I would attempt doing that. That is why I am looking for an insert from another barrel. I know I have a 4" 681 barrel but it doesn't have the insert. Surely there has to be one somewhere.

But again, thank you to those who PM'ed me to try to help. I did put a thread in the gun smithing forum. I got others with the same idea with the resin.
