That sounds like a good trade, especially if the S&W is in great shape. The N-frame guns (regardless of caliber) are just fine guns, period. I've never much cared for the Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag and have always greatly preferred the 29/629 (old style). I've got one of the first 629s and it's never been shot. Stamped side plate, pinned barrel, flash chromed hammer and trigger, and counterbored chambers. It also has a slick action and smooth wood grips, which S&W provided me with after I complained about their checkered grips (why would they even sell the gun with those things?).
