Every gun I own is completely reliable in no small part because I keep them spotlessly clean and lubricated. Having seen what the patches come out looking like after 200-300 rounds, 1800 gives me the willies. Just as a matter of curiosity did you clean the MP before firing the first time?

I don't see how not cleaning it abused or damaged the gun in any significant way.
I don’t keep my fighting guns spotless. I keep them cleaned, and I believe more importantly lubed.
I can see a definite benefit to running your fighting guns in a variety of extreme conditions to judge their reliability.
