A bit off topic, but...

Those OEM .460/.500 Magnum Hogue X-frames from S&W Accessories ($37 + s/h) really help with the recoil of a 4"/6" 629. I have a grip for each of my two 629s, having even used them on my first 629 - a 629MG - great aid in recoil management. As they are stated as fitting the K, L, N, & X frames, I had to try:



Ad absurdium. Maybe. They make the goofy little L-frame 296 fun to pop away with those 200gr .44 Special Gold Dots. Of course, forget sticking it in a pocket. With the OEM boots - and a Mika's pocket holster - it hides in most of my pants pockets - but only in a raincoat with those Hogue X-frames. Still - for a smallish 629 - and real Magnums - I'd make some concessions!
