17's and pre 17's (pre 1957) are tack drivers. One of S&W's most popular guns next to perhaps the Model 10. I just purchased a pre 17 serial K 1722 for $550 with no box or tools in probably 95% or better condition. I all ready own a couple as well as several 22/32's, but I just couldn't pass up a 4 digit serial numbered K 22 and especially a pre 17, K22 with serial number K 1722.
