Well ,I can say with no hesitation my 45 Colt looked not a bit like the ones in this thread, at least not in finish.
I have seen 38 Special HD barrels in the white at Gunparts for sale for about $50.00 and I wonder if that is what inspires these conversions.
Mine was a "beater" with I would guess a new barrel, newer trigger and hammer and a old frame. As I have said , although the action was nice the fact that the sideplate was polished bare did nothing for me.
As a shooter , maybe ? But I also would have felt better about a more modern cylinder, especially a "new"five shot, that is really the way to go, in my opinion.
