Here in New York State, before Governor Pataki banned the practice of Police/Sheriff departments selling, trading in their used service weapons, we were allowed to buy our department weapons instead of them being traded in. I have both of my no dash Model 66's. I chose at my own cost to use smooth wood grips, as the checkered grips tend to chew up my jackets, and the patrol car's interior.
